December 2022: Probus Christmas party and our Tree at Driffield Church
Great time at the party at the cricket club - good food (thanks to Pam Woodcock). Great music with the Driffield Ukulele Band and a big thanks to the Mayor Mark Blakeston for joining our celebration. We have already decided to hold it again next year.
Lovely work by the ladies on the Probus Christmas tree at Driffield Church.
June 2022: Visiting Bempton Cliffs with Poppy the RSPB events manager
On a perfect summers day we split into small groups each with a guide to observe the birds on the cliffs. Poppy told us that there were an estimated 500,000 sea birds on the cliffs. We had wonderful views of all the species of sea birds but the highlight was to see a barn owl close up hunting in the middle of the day in bright sunlight, obviously hunting to feed hungry young mouths. After this, twenty-one of us then went to Clickham Grange, Burton Fleming where farmers wife, Carol Skelton, provided us with a wonderful afternoon tea.
